Starting Time

DEFINITION

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

EXPLANATION

Starting time refers to the date and time that construction on a project is scheduled to commence. The starting time is particularly important as it is directly correlated to the completion times of smaller tasks which ultimately add up and determine when the project will be completed. Construction is a very expensive and time consuming job and without proper planning a project can fall behind schedule very easily.

A certain activity or duty that is vital to the project can be adversely effected by the delay of another job. There are a variety of factors that may have a trickledown effect that will impact the project until the day of its completion. For example, concrete being poured on a sidewalk may have to set before workers are allowed to move onto their next task but if the concrete wasn’t poured or doesn’t set on time then this can push back a number of other tasks that should be underway.

Scheduling & Preparation

A general construction site is bound to a schedule and construction plan that pieces together costs, time, and project blueprints. A construction manager is tasked with making sure that any plans that may need revision are met with flexibility and effectiveness in order to ensure that the project meets the standard of the developers. Among the duties of a construction manager are making sure that the starting time is met, estimating activity durations, and helping estimate resource requirements needed for the project. Starting times are inherently important to a project as everything that follows is directly influenced by meeting the starting time and working diligently once this time has been met.
