Sill

DEFINITION

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

EXPLANATION

A sill serves the purpose of attaching directly to a foundation or foundational wall of a house.

To ensure maximum safety in the case of an earthquake, anchor bolts attach to the sill and are put directly into the foundation of the house.

For example, a sill plate serves as a supportive structure in addition to a larger structure.

The sill plate will act as the primary frame piece at the top of a foundational wall.
